Default What do you like about Guild wars?

Each time i visit the forum, most of the new threads are just complains filled with angry loos-players. Can we just make a thread that points out the good side of guild wars? So i decided to do it and NO FLAMING-COMPLAINS please.

Just explain:

1. What do you like about guild wars?
2. Your best moment in the game.

1. I think it's how gw is different of other mmo. I like the idea of instanced area so you can do quests without waiting a monster to re-spawn. The concept of builds>equipements is also a great point to play guild wars.

2. My first HA *raid* where we won the HoH from the evil europeans (joke)

I don't want to see any : (...) until they nerfed (enter skill-whatever-here).

1. No monthly fee and its very fast to launch the game, faster than my other games...Takes awhile to get into Steam Games, even Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has long load times to finally get into the game

2. GVG moments...its always fun being part of groups with other people and winning/losing in pvp

1 no monthly fee's and very fast to start, no long loading (unless first time entering area) but for the rest i don't have any complaints
2 it has something gentle about it that can relax me, without me having to worry and run around thinking about the next bullet that is gonna go through my head
3 some ppl are really friendly and are always up for some fun in the cities and we make a little party

Graphics. Gameplay. Girls.

Although a more realistic "bounce" engine like in DOA-X2 would have been nice ^_^....

I like the vast amount of stuff to do. I love the no monthly fee, but would still play it if there was one.

My best time so far is after playing alone for months, I joined a large guild/alliance last week. Did a lot of stuff this past weekend, that was topped off with a full run of FoW.

1. What I like best about guild wars is probably the skill system.
I just love making/adjusting individual and party builds and watch them kick ass

2. Best moment: Got a lot of those. But the latest one is probably my first urgoz run a week ago or so, with 2 guildies and our heros.

1. No monthly fee
2. The events are usually fun. I like the Dragon Festival and Halloween

Best moment? Probably the first time I mopped the ground with the Lich without so much as batting an eyelash.

1. Bling with no edge. There are all kinds of beautiful fancy gear, and all of it is on a level playing field with the simplest gear. I love that. It continues to please me and make me feel that my MMO is better than other MMOs.

2. My high points are all beating objectives after repeated failure. Thunderhead Keep was the first, but the most exciting was probably Defend North Kryta Province. I was high as a damn kite after DNKP; I couldn't feel my hands. Oh, also also, the Orozar Highstone quest in Sorrow's Furnace.

1. No monthly fees, but in conjunction with quality that is actually fee-worthy. By quality i mean well designed, well polished both in terms of gameplay and technical stuff, developer dedication and great graphics.

2. hmmm *thinks really hard*... The first time i saw the Jade Sea. Breathtaking. My jaw hit the floor. It still captures my imagination whenever im in the region.

Let's see here..
  1. Graphically, I find it amazing. Always something to look at and take a picture of. Lots of great atmosphere.
  2. The music. Peaceful, in areas, like the Jade Sea. Haunting in some areas, such as the desolation and post-sear Ascalon. The instense soundtracks of Sorrows Furnace. It's all lovely on my 5.1.
  3. The people. Sure, some Eric Cartman's around, but the majority of folks I meet are swell people.
  4. Build customization. It was refreshing to learn that I could constantly reinvent and tweak skill builds, unlike so many other games where once you put points in one area, they're there for good.
  5. I always have something to do in here instead of the typical "Grind for your next level". I still have a lot of Masters quests to do, some masters level missions, few elite areas to finish, some titles I'd like to achieve, some places left to fully explore. My list of things to do is extensive.
  6. Events, Festivals, weekend activities are all a nice change of pace.
  7. Booze, booze, and more booze!
  8. Some would disagree, but the whole storyline through each chapter was nice to go through and be a part of.
  9. There's no monthly fee, which suits me well because my work comes first, playtime is second.
  10. In the end..I just find it to be a lot of fun. Even after 16 months, I'm still enjoying myself, thrilled at accomplishments made, and laughing at myself in my misfortunes. Bruised and battered, but still smiling

1)Not pay monthly, Skill > Equipment, build syngergy/teamwork being very important.

2) Was in HA on sacred temples. running a relic, necro/ele with ward vs foes comes back. he gets me with the first ward. runs forward to place the second ward. i drop the relic, D-Shot the ward, pick up the relic and walk on

1) No monthly fee. Gameplay. Community.
2) Making friends and meeting new people but my best moment ever was meeting a very special person. I think you know who you are

1. No Monthly fee, graphics, character models and storyline. I hope in GW2 they will be improved to make them even better.

2. Best moments would be beating Thunderhead Keep and Hells Precipice missions for the first time back in the days.

1. How it plays, looks, and sounds. No monthly fee is a nice perk.

2. Too many to pick just one. Plus, I always believe that the best is yet to come.

1. It's a fun and complex hack-and-slash RPG that's both satisfying and intuitive.

2. Got a lot of these, so I'll just give one: When all seven of my ex-guildies got squashed, at the same time, by one of the noob-filters in Sorrow's Furnace.
